Broad Electrical services in collaboration with Drainways Contracting and CR Automation completed the installation of a brand-new wastewater plant for the Napier City Council at the Napier Airport.

Broad Electrical Services worked alongside REL Group on an exciting project, installing and commissioning Corson's Maize handling and storage system in Gisborne.
The system consists of 5 silos in total-control of the storage, fumigation, and handling system of maize and will integrate with all existing systems. This system has a state of the art I-Grain system for the monitoring of CO2 and temperature levels to regulate the pressurized silo atmosphere. Our in-house switchboard team designed and built the large control panel.
February 2024-April 2024
Broad Electrical Services were contracted for the electrical rebuild of the Bay View Water Treatment Plant after Cyclone Gabrielle. This job involved the installation and rewiring of all the pumps, instrumentation, power and lighting and all electrical control panels. This job was completed under very tight timeframes. Whilst keeping water flowing to the reservoir, we were able to complete all electrical rework and get the plants water treatment system functional again. With our switchboard division we were also able to build and install all the new power distribution panels.
January 2023-May 2023
This job was to design and build a waste pump station for a new subdivision in Flaxmere alongside Pump & Valve. Broad Electrical was issued template electrical drawings to be made site specific. With our in-house electrical design engineer, we were able to complete these. The pump station involves a two-pump system running via a radar level transducer with floats as back up. The Broad Electrical Switchboard Division completed the build of the switchboard.

August 2023-February 2024
Broad Electrical Services was responsible for the rebuilding of multiple HBRC storm water pump stations after the devastation of Cyclone Gabrielle. This involved the installation of all new switchboards, cable support systems, and all new wiring. Broad Electrical Services were on hand to help with commissioning and fault finding on the pump stations. The rebuild was done whilst keeping the pump stations 100% operational.
February 2024-Present
Broad Electrical Services are currently in the process of designing, installing and commissioning a new SCADA system for all HBRC storm water pump stations. This involves electrical design, switchboard building, automation, installation, and commissioning. Our electrical design team are completing all the electrical drawings, the switchboard building team are building all the control panels, the automation team are completing the engineering and automation, and our site Electricians will complete the installs.
October 2023-August 2024
Broad Electrical Services were proud to work alongside CR Automation to design and rebuild two pump stations at the Bay View Pan Pac site after Cyclone Gabrielle. This involved investigating existing systems and designing a new system based on our findings. Our team was able to complete this project on time and within budget. We also worked alongside WaterForce Hawkes’ Bay to design, build and commission a new odour control system for the holding pond. This helps to remove any bad odours for the residents living around the Pan Pac site.
July 2024-Present
Broad Electrical Services are in the process of completing an upgrade project for the Hastings District Council. We are responsible for the electrical upgrade of their bore water supply site which includes a new switchboard and full new wiring. This project is particularly tricky as we need to keep the pump system running whilst installing the new system. Part of this project is the upgrade of their radio communications network with the installation of new 4RF radios and Kingfisher RTU’s. We successfully completed the civil works in house with the assistance of Drainways and their Hydro Excavator and the Broad team completed the concrete prep and placement.
Hawkes’ Bay Regional Council
August 2023-Present
Broad Electrical Services are proud to be the preferred electrical contractor for the Hawkes’ Bay Regional Council. This involves the maintenance and repairs of all their storm water pump stations. Every four months we complete pump maintenance checks at all their sites. Broad Electrical have a 24/7 on-call service agreement with HBRC.
WaterForce Hawkes’ Bay
September 2022-Present
Broad Electrical Services are proud to work alongside WaterForce Hawkes’ Bay to be one of their preferred suppliers. We work closely with each other to design, build and install pump systems throughout Hawkes’ Bay. This involves new installations and repairs on old systems as well as fault finding when issues arise. We also assist with after-hour call outs when required.
Together with AMZ Construction, Competitive Contracting & A Plus Plumbing and Gas we've been working on bringing new life to the Criterion Hotel in Napier. Originally a plush Spanish Mission-style Hotel, it has been a backpackers for the last few decades and is now being returned to its former glory, with all heritage fabrics (such as fireplaces, lead lights, and doors) being retained to keep with the Art Deco style.
